Valve Tags & Nameplates for Treatment Plants
Engraved acrylic valve tags, pump nameplates, and panel labels built for wet, corrosive plant environments. Sequential numbered sets, ANSI service colors, and replacements that ship in 1-2 business days - not two weeks.
ANSI/ASME A13.1 service colors on engraved two-ply acrylic
"Professional label plates for a very good price. I needed to label house disconnects, and was going to use a sharpie, but the 'chat' suggested a real label plate instead. Panel Label's site was easy to use, love the live preview to really see it, arrived in a few days, and adhesive was already attached. Looks nice and professional!" - Bob C
Built for Wet, Corrosive Plant Environments
Headworks, digesters, and chemical rooms are hard on identification. Brass tarnishes and the stamped legend fills with grime. Printed labels peel and fade. Engraved two-ply acrylic solves both problems:
For maintenance and replacement purchases, the plant chooses the material - and engraved acrylic is a proven choice. New construction specs that name stainless steel or brass by material are a different path; ask the engineer whether engraved plastic is acceptable as an equal. Many specs allow it.
Numbered Sets & Reorders
- Sequential numbering: enter the service text, first number, and quantity - the designer builds the full set with a live preview of every tag.
- Reorder the next block: when the plant adds valves, start the sequence where the last set ended and the new tags match the originals.
- Spreadsheet upload: one row per tag for a full valve schedule in a single order.
- Match existing tags: send the hole diameter and position in the order notes and we will match your current format.
- Mounting hole: 3/16" hole ready for beaded chain, stainless wire, or zip tie. Chains and fasteners are not supplied.
ANSI/ASME A13.1 Colors for Plant Piping
Most treatment plants color code piping and valve tags to the A13.1 scheme. Because the tag itself is colored engraving stock, the service color is part of the tag - no separate color band to fade or peel.
Fire Protection
Red - fire water and suppression lines
Sludge
Orange - sludge lines and digesters
Treated Effluent
Green - treated water / effluent
Potable Water
Blue - potable and process water
Chemical Feed
Yellow - chlorine, polymer, coagulants
Compressed Air
Blue - instrument and process air
Color assignments vary by plant standard. Confirm the scheme against your facility valve schedule or piping standard before ordering a full set.
What Plants Order From Us
Maintenance supervisors and plant operators buy direct - no bid, no waiting on a distributor. These are the orders we see most from treatment facilities.
Valve bank numbering
Sequential numbered sets for valve inventories - CHLORINE 1-25 this year, 26-50 next year. The designer remembers your format so reorders match the original set.
Pump and blower nameplates
Equipment nameplates for pumps, blowers, mixers, and motors with HP, voltage, and asset number. Adhesive backed or hole mounted.
MCC and SCADA panel labels
Matching engraved labels for motor control centers, SCADA panels, and disconnects so the field tag and the panel legend use the same numbering.
Replacement tags, fast
A tag falls off or fades - you need the replacement this week, not after a two-week lead time. Most orders engrave and ship in 1-2 business days.
Wet and corrosive areas
Two-ply acrylic has no corrosion path. The legend is cut through the cap layer into a contrasting core, so it cannot wash off, fade, or fill with grime.
Plant expansion tagging
New process trains and added valves tagged to match your existing scheme - send us a photo or the hole spacing and we will match the format.
How to Order
- Open the valve tag designer and pick round or square, size, and your service color.
- Use numbered-set mode for sequential tags, or enter each tag individually - or upload your valve schedule as a spreadsheet.
- Confirm text height and quantity. Pricing updates live and bulk discounts apply automatically.
- Approve the on-screen preview and check out. Most sets ship in 1-2 business days.
Municipal and utility buyers: contact us before ordering and we will arrange invoicing for purchase orders.

Wastewater Valve Tags - Common Questions
Do wastewater plants accept plastic valve tags?
For maintenance and replacement purchases, yes - the plant buys whatever is durable and available, and engraved two-ply acrylic is a common choice. New construction specs sometimes name stainless steel or brass by material; for those, ask the engineer whether engraved plastic is acceptable as an equal. Many specs allow it, especially indoors and in dry areas.
What colors should we use for wastewater piping?
Most plants follow ANSI/ASME A13.1 or their own plant standard. We stock seven color combinations: yellow/black, red/white, black/white, green/white, blue/white, orange/white, and white/black. Common choices are orange for sludge, green for treated effluent, blue for potable water and air, yellow for chemical feed, and red for fire protection. We do not stock brown; if your spec requires it, contact us for a custom quote.
Can you match our existing valve tag format?
Yes. Send a photo of an existing tag or the hole diameter and position in the order notes, and we will match the layout, numbering style, and mounting.
Do you accept purchase orders from municipalities?
Contact us before ordering and we will work out invoicing for municipal and utility purchases. Most maintenance orders are small enough for a p-card, and checkout takes a standard credit card.
How do reorders work for sequential sets?
The valve tag designer has a numbered-set mode: enter the service text, the first number, and the quantity, and it builds the full set. When you need the next block of numbers, start the sequence where the last set ended.
How fast do orders ship?
Most orders engrave and ship within 1-2 business days from Clayton, North Carolina, with free UPS Ground shipping on qualifying orders.
