Materials & Compliance
Are your labels UL approved?
Yes. We use Rowmark DurMark materials certified under UL Yellowcard E354751 and rated UL94-HB for flame resistance. This is the same certification used in industrial electrical components and accepted by inspectors nationwide.
Are your labels made in the USA?
Yes. Our engraved acrylic nameplates, legend plates and valve tags are cut and laser-engraved in our Clayton, North Carolina shop using Rowmark material manufactured in the USA. Some supplies, such as adhesives and vinyl label stock, may come from US and globally sourced suppliers. If your project has domestic sourcing requirements, contact us and we'll confirm the details for your order.
Do your labels meet NEC 110.21?
Yes. NEC 110.21 requires field-applied labels to be of sufficient durability for the environment involved. Our laser engraved acrylic labels are designed specifically to meet this standard indoors and outdoors.
What NEMA ratings are your materials suitable for?
Our materials are rated for NEMA 1, 3R, 4, 4X, and 12 enclosure environments, covering the full range of industrial, outdoor and washdown applications.
Are your labels suitable for solar PV installations?
Yes. Solar applications require UV stable, chemical resistant materials that hold up in direct sun exposure. Our Rowmark DurMark materials are specifically engineered for UV stability and are widely used for solar combiner boxes, disconnects and inverter identification.
Do you carry submittals and material documentation?
Yes. Our Submittals & Specs page includes Rowmark material data sheets and 3M adhesive specs ready to include in your project submittals.
Labels & Legend Plates
What types of labels do you make?
We make custom engraved labels for electrical panels, breakers, disconnects, transformers, motor control centers, valve tags, cable wraps and machine data plates. We also manufacture 16mm mini, 22mm, and 30mm legend plates plus 60mm E-Stop plates for pushbutton stations, selector switches, and indicator lights.
What's the difference between engraved and printed labels?
Printed labels apply ink or vinyl to the surface. They fade, peel, and degrade with UV, heat, and chemicals. Our labels are laser engraved directly into two ply acrylic, permanently exposing the contrasting color beneath. The contrast is built into the material itself.
What legend plate sizes and profiles do you offer?
We offer 16mm mini, 22mm, and 30mm legend plates in rectangular and bell shapes, plus 60mm E-Stop plates and custom bore cutouts.
Can you do multi-language labels?
Yes. We support English, Spanish, and bilingual labels for facilities with OSHA bilingual marking requirements.
What color combinations are available?
We offer a wide range of two ply Rowmark color combinations. Black on white, red on white, yellow on black, and more. The online designer shows available combinations for each label type.
What mounting options are available?
We offer 3M 467MP adhesive backing, predrilled mounting holes, and unfinished edges for custom mounting. Specify your preference in the designer or contact us for custom requirements.
Billing & Business
Do you offer net terms for contractors and businesses?
Yes. We offer credit terms for qualified commercial accounts. Complete our Credit Application to apply.
